Once used as a prison and later a quarantine station, the island is now home to the famous giant Aldabra tortoises — some over 100 years old. Enjoy close interaction with these gentle giants, take memorable photos, and relax on the white sandy beach. You may also enjoy swimming or snorkeling in the clear waters surrounding the island. 🏛️ Stone Town Exploration After returning to the mainland, continue to the historic heart of Zanzibar — Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walk through its narrow, atmospheric streets filled with centuries of Swahili, Arab, Indian, and European influence. Visit iconic landmarks such as the Old Fort, House of Wonders, and local markets while your guide shares fascinating stories about Zanzibar’s culture, history, and spice trade legacy.

Day 1: Stone Town & Prison Island Tour
🕢 7:30 AM – Hotel Pickup Your private driver will pick you up from your hotel or accommodation and transfer you comfortably to Forodhani, the departure point for your Prison Island excursion. 🚤 8:45 AM – Arrival at Forodhani Shore Arrive at Forodhani Gardens, meet your guide, and board your boat as you prepare to sail across the turquoise waters to Prison Island. 🏝️ 9:20 AM – Prison Island Tour Begins Arrive at Prison Island and enjoy approximately two hours exploring this historic island.
